• MEET THE BOARD AND COMMITTEES:

    Executive Committee:

    Keith Wurtz, President - Keith and wife, Nancy, reside in Milford. They have raised 2 children, Erica and Ryan, both Okoboji Community School graduates.  They are also grandparents to future Okoboji Pioneer, Leighton Hjelm, son of Jens and Erica Hjelm. Keith is a South Dakota native and is a graduate of South Dakota State University.  He has been a registered pharmacist in Iowa for 38 years and is currently employed at the Milford HyVee Pharmacy.

     

    Char Kremmin - Char and her husband, Tom, live on a farm near Milford.  Their three children, Travis, Tricia, and Kelsey, all graduated from Okoboji.  Char graduated from Mountain Lake High School in Minnesota and graduated from the University of Minnesota.  She is employed as an Assistant Vice President at United Community Bank in Milford.

     

    Brad Simington, Treasurer -  Brad and his wife, Laurie, live in Milford with their two children, Taylor and Koleton, who attend Okoboji CSD.   Brad graduated from Spencer High School and The University of Northern Iowa and is President of Farmers Savings Bank in Milford.

     

    Juli Johnson -  Juli and her husband, Travis, a 1996 Okoboji Alumni, live in Milford with their three children, Addison, Colton and Camden who attend Okoboji CSD.   Juli graduated from Galva-Holstein High School and Iowa State University and is the Accountant at the Pearson Lakes Art Center in Okoboji. She currently serves on the Okoboji Community School Board.

     

    Sue Richter – Sue and husband, Emil, raised children Brian and Jenna and are grandparents to Mason Dible and Rowan Richter, all residing in the Okoboji School District.  Sue graduated from Spirit Lake and the University of Iowa and works in the family business, The Three Sons.

     

    Abby Walleck - Abby and her husband, Phil, live in Milford with their two sons, Noah and Simon, who attend Okoboji CSD. Abby graduated from Galva-Holstein High School and has a Bachelors and Juris Doctorate Degree from Creighton University. Abby is an attorney and partner in the Maahs & Walleck law firm in Spirit Lake.

    Ann Ditsworth - Ann, a 1988 Alumni, and her husband, Lee, live in rural Milford with their two children, Drake and Lauren, who attend Okoboji CSD.  Ann is a University of South Dakota graduate and is currently in her second term as Dickinson County Recorder.

     

    Trisha Ferguson  - Trisha and her husband, B.J., live in Milford with their daughter, Brooklyn, who attends Okoboji CSD.  Trisha graduated from South O’Brien High School and the University of Northern Iowa and is a CPA at Winther, Stave, & Co. 

     

    Jeremy Helmers - Jeremy and his wife, Melissa, live in Milford with their two kids, Jamison and Makenna, who attend Okoboji CSD.  Jeremy grew up in Algona, Iowa and moved to the lakes area in 1996 where he is an insurance agent for Bank Midwest and works out of their Okoboji location.

    Laurie Simington - Laurie and her husband, Brad, live in Milford with their two children, Taylor and Koleton, who attend Okoboji CSD.  Laurie graduated from Spencer High School and the University of Northern Iowa.  She has been a high school social studies teacher, coach, church youth director and is currently employed as a tourism associate for Okoboji Tourism.
