Our school board members are elected at-large for four-year terms and receive no pay for their service. Background and contact information for each board member can be found below. We encourage everyone to come to our board meetings to hear the discussions around our great district. Regular board meetings are held at the Okoboji Administration Building beginning at 5:30 pm the Monday prior to the 15th of each month.

    Juli Johnson - Vice PresidentJuli Johnson

    My husband Travis, a 1996 Okoboji Community School District Alumni, and I have lived in Milford since 2002. We have three children in the school district; a daughter in 5th grade, a son in 2nd grade and a son in Pre-K. I graduated from Galva-Holstein Community School District in 1997 and Iowa State University in 2000 with a BS in Accounting. From 2000-2010, I worked professionally in both private and public accounting and am currently serving as the Director of Finance at a local non-profit, a position I have held since 2010.

    I am a board member of the Okoboji Community School Foundation, board chair of the Okoboji Community School Foundation Special Projects Committee, Pioneer Parents (elementary PIE group) Treasurer and past member of the Okoboji Community School District finance committee.

    Brad Droegmiller - PresidentBrad Droegmiller

    I’m a Sr. Account Manager for ABB (Zurich, Switzerland) and own two businesses with my wife, Jill. Also, I serve on ABB’s Engineering and Manufacturing Council, and I’m an instructor in Advanced Conveyor Engineering. I’m a current or past member of SME, CEMA, GEAPS, NSSGA, and AED. I have spoken at three Society for Mining Engineering (SME) Symposiums and two Grain Elevator Processing Society (GEAPS) Symposiums. Four of my papers have been published, and I was named ABB’s Engineer of the Year.  

    I’m a past Okoboji School Board Member serving as Director, Vice President, and President. While on the board I spent four years on the Finance Committee, two years on the Building Committee and two years on the SIAC Committee. In 2010 I formed Okoboji Youth Football, Inc. in which I volunteered six years. Also, I have volunteered several years at the YMCA, Okoboji Little League, First Lutheran Church, Okoboji Forensics, 3 Lakes Association and 4H.

    I’ve been married to Jill for 21 years, and we have two children; Braden who is a Junior and Karna a 3rd-grader. I grew up north of Alta, IA and graduated from Wayne State College. Our home is in Milford.

    Scott Dodge - DirectorScott Dodge

    Scott graduated from Terril HS in 1984 and moved to North Carolina a few years after that. He lived there until 2000, when he moved back to Northwest Iowa. Scott currently lives in Milford with his wife Susan, and sons Parker, Jake, Preston, and Mason. Scott recently started a new chapter in his career as the branch manager for Crescent electric in Spencer and Storm Lake. Scott has been coaching youth sports for years and is now an assistant HS football coach. In his spare time, he likes to boat and bicycle.

    Bob Hansen - DirectorBob Hansen

    Bob graduated from Algona High School in 1972, spent 4 years in the U.S.N. Seabees (a mobile construction company). He then attended college at ILCC and Buena Vista University where he obtained his teaching degree. He was an educator in both the Storm Lake and North Kossuth school districts.

    Bob returned to Algona, raised two young boys into great young men and ran the daily operations of a family-owned business. They sold the company in 2011 and relocated to the Okoboji area where he now serves as a volunteer coach in the girls' varsity basketball program and proudly serves on the Okoboji School Board.

    Jay Weaver

    Jay Weaver - Director

    Jay moved back to Milford in 1995 and currently works for NuStar energy. His wife Mary and him have five children: Alyssa, Mikayla, Spenser, Tanner, and Abby, all who have graduated from Okoboji. Jay enjoys sports, camping, hunting, family, and spending time with his grandchildren. Through his children, he has been involved in many of the activities at Okoboji.
