School pictures will be taking place in two weeks. OHS will take pictures on Monday, September 25th, OMS on the 26th, and OES on the 27th! Nothing needs to be done ahead of time and ordering details will be coming soon from Split Rock Photography. Mark your calendars and bring your best smiles on picture day!
We are excited to announce that the official photographer of Okoboji Schools, Rocky Thompson and Split Rock Photography, now has an online gallery for all Okoboji Activity photos. Any time Rocky photographs an Okoboji event, a gallery will be available on this site where social media quality images can be downloaded for FREE and high-quality photos can be ordered.

Our first WIN Wednesday of the year takes place tomorrow! Students and parents check email for a link to a document and videos with more information!
We are excited to bring back Wellness Wednesdays again this year. Hydration is our first theme this year. We will focus on hydration for the last week in August and the month of September. As the weather is especially hot, please encourage your student to drink water throughout the day.

Please be aware that bus routes for the 2023-2024 school year have been updated today and republished to the documents section of our Okoboji Community Schools App. Each route along with maps and time stops for both AM and PM is available in the documents section of the district and building pages on our app. Check them out and we can't wait to see all the smiling faces on our district buses tomorrow morning!
OCSD Families - Please note that information on bus routes for this year was just emailed to all parents. Bus route maps and schedules are available in the Documents section of the Okoboji Schools App! A reminder that buses DO NOT run on Wednesday as only 9-12 grade are in session and 10th-12th are only in school for the afternoon. Normal bus routes will begin on Thursday.
A reminder of our schedule for the first day of school! 9th grade report at 8:10 and 10th-12th grade report by 12:05. All students please come through the front door as we will hand out schedules with locker number and Dugout Leader as you come in.

We will kick off at 6 o'clock this evening in the auditorium. Student schedules and locker assignments will be handed out tomorrow, so no need to bring anything with you tonight!

We had a great day welcoming our new staff on Monday! We spent time together defining what Pioneering Pathways for Every Student means at Okoboji Schools and creating a vision of what each of them can do to help move our district forward! We couldn't be more excited for the 2023-2024 school year!

If you are an OHS student who wants to make a schedule change, has an open period you need to fill, or has a question about your schedule, plan to stop in to one of our two come-and-go sessions before school starts to get this taken care of! Stop in to the OHS Office this Friday between 1-4 PM or next Tuesday between 2-4:30 PM to work with Kizze or Ms. Schaefer to make the needed changes!
The Pioneer Pride Marching Band capped off two weeks of band camp with an outstanding preview concert for friends and family of the band! We can't wait to see and hear them playing under the Friday night lights this fall!

OHS Students who are taking a dual-credit class through ILCC this fall - Online classes begin on Monday, August 21 and live classes on August 22. Both are before our first day of school. Before you can start your class you need to be able to login and you need your school Chromebook.
We will have Kendra from ILCC here at OHS on Friday, August 18 from 1-4pm to help. Plan to come to the Commons at some point in that time frame to get your computer and get logged on so you are ready to start your class on time! The process should only take a few minutes for each student.
If you or your son/daughter will be a ninth-grade student, or a new student at Okoboji High School this fall, mark your calendars for an important event! We will hold an open house on Monday, August 21 from 6-7 PM and we encourage incoming ninth-grade and new students and their parents to attend! There will be a short but informative presentation on making a successful transition to Okoboji High School and you will have some time to explore the building and ask questions.
We will meet in the OHS Auditorium starting at 6! We hope to see you all there!
