We have more than 30 area businesses signed up to participate in the 10th Annual Okoboji Summer Job Fair! Is yours signed up? If not, there is still time to join us for this FREE event that gives you the chance to meet over 200 area 14-18 year-olds looking for summer and year-round work! Spring Break is almost here! ☀️🏖️😎 No school for all Okoboji Community School buildings March 16-20! Whether you are traveling or staying local, we hope you get a chance to relax and recharge! We look forward to seeing you back on Monday, March 23!

Due to the forecast weather for late this evening, our Inclusion Carnival has been shortened to run from 5-7 PM at Okoboji Middle School. There will be lots of great activities, games, and of course food! Come out to support our Special Olympics program!

Sign ups are open for Spring Conferences at all OCSD buildings! Conferences will be held for grades PK-6 on Tuesday, February 24th and Thursday, February 26th and for grades 7-12 on Thursday, February 26th! The sign up links have been emailed to all parents today. We look forward to this opportunity to partner with you to Pioneer Pathways for EVERY Student!

We are so grateful for the heart, patience, and dedication they bring every single day. School counselors are an important part of every school team and we at Okoboji are blessed with some of the best! Our Okoboji educators Mrs. Clouse & Mrs. Rients took the national stage at NCTE this weekend in Denver! They presented Scrolling for Stories: How Instagram Ignites Independent Reading, sharing how KB Lit Adventure boosts student engagement and builds a culture of reading. We’re proud to have such innovative teachers representing Pioneers!

Today, we pause to honor and thank all who have served in our nation’s armed forces. Your courage, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting our freedoms inspire us all. In an attempt to help members of our community who are struggling to keep food on the table, OCSD is holding a food drive! See the information and please spread the word! Donations can be dropped off at the main foyer at Entrance A of Okoboji High School. Donations will be taken to Upper Des Moines Opportunity each Tuesday. Let's work together to help support our community! Please share!

Pioneer Fans! We can't wait to see you at Pioneer Stadium this Friday evening as your 7-1 District Runner-Up Pioneer Football Team takes on the Knights of Unity Christian in the first round of playoffs! Please know the ticketing process for state playoffs is different and NOT through Bound, as our regular season games are. Please see this information for getting your tickets purchased ahead of time! If you missed school picture day in September or were just having a bad hair day, retakes are tomorrow morning! Retakes for OMS and OHS will be held at the Middle School between 7:45 and 9 AM! OHS students can go to the middle school before school or come to the office at the start of the day and check out to go to OMS to get their picture taken!

We are offering a pep bus to the football game on Friday for students in grades 7-12! An email was sent to all students and parents in these grades. See the email for more information!

We are excited about the amazing season our Pioneer Football Team is having and LOVE the HUGE crowds we are seeing at home games to cheer them on! We have another big home game this Friday night against the Falcons of OABCIG and we need ALL of Pioneer Nation here to support our team! As we prepare for this and future home games, the Administrative Team wants to remind all students, parents, and fans of the expectations for behavior, seating, and areas of the campus that are off limits during games. These expectations help ensure all fans are safe and able to enjoy the game. Go Pioneers!

A reminder that school picture days are coming up this month! Picture days will take place the week of September 15th and retakes will happen one month later. Watch for information coming from Split/Rock Photography and remember no money or forms are needed on picture day!
