We will be taking a pass-the-bucket donation during halftime of tonight's football game against B-H/RV in Milford to support the families affected by the recent fire that claimed lives and injured several students in the MOC-FV community. Our student section will be wearing purple as well to show support for our fellow conference school as they deal with this terrible tragedy. Okoboji High School is proud to announce its recognition by the Iowa Department of Education as a FAFSA-Focused School of Excellence for the 2024–25 academic year. This distinction honors schools where 70% or more of graduating seniors completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), supporting students’ access to postsecondary financial aid and removing barriers to higher education.

Out of 28 Iowa high schools awarded this honor, Okoboji High stands among the top performers, with FAFSA completion rates significantly outperforming the statewide average of 52%. The school achieved the highest FAFSA completion rate among all public high schools in its AEA and ranks within the top 9% statewide, demonstrating exceptional success in supporting families through a complex process.

This accomplishment reflects the exceptional dedication of Mary Prososki, Okoboji High School’s College and Career Transition Counselor, whose tireless efforts have guided seniors and their families through the FAFSA completion process. Mary’s expertise, patience, and commitment ensured students navigated this critical step with confidence and clarity.

“Completing the FAFSA can be daunting, but Mary’s support made all the difference for our seniors,” said Principal Brian Downing. “Her leadership was a key driver behind Okoboji’s outstanding completion rate.”

The FAFSA designation highlights Okoboji High School’s commitment to "Pioneering Pathways for Every Student" including fostering college-going pathways and ensuring that financial barriers do not impede students’ postsecondary aspirations.

A reminder that school picture days are coming up this month! Picture days will take place the week of September 15th and retakes will happen one month later. Watch for information coming from Split/Rock Photography and remember no money or forms are needed on picture day!

When a school bus has its stop arm extended and lights flashing, all traffic must stop, it's not just the law, it's a life-saving measure.

Last week Infinite Campus moved our services to an updated server. This process required Okoboji to have a new URL to the parent portal. If you created a bookmark, this will need to be edited to point to the new URL. The new URL is https://okobojiia.infinitecampus.org/campus/okoboji.jsp, or you can visit our website and click campus portal. If using the Infinite Campus app to register, you may need to delete and reinstall the app before proceeding.​

Join us for a powerful presentation on sex trafficking in Iowa, revealing how this devastating crime is happening RIGHT HERE IN OUR HOMETOWN. This eye-opening event will not only raise awareness but also equip attendees with practical steps to protect our community. Don't miss this opportunity to learn how you can take action and make a difference. Okoboji CSD has been working closely with Stacy Besch from Team Iowa to bring awareness in the Lakes Area to an issue that affects communities everywhere- including our own . We strongly encourage everyone to attend this important presentation, as knowledge is the first step in protecting our children and our community. Parents of younger children, in particular, are urged to come, as traffickers often target kids at a much younger age than many realize, using technology and other deceptive methods. Together, we can stay informed, take action, and create a safer environment for all. See the attached flyer and information below for additional details: There are two opportunities for you to engage in this learning, both on Monday, May 5. The first is from 2:00-4:00 PM at the OHS Auditorium. The second is that evening from 6:30-8:30 PM at the Majestic Pavilion in Arnold's Park. Note for parents: Minors are encouraged and welcome to attend, but please be aware that the presentation includes direct and graphic content as there is no other way to address this information. We encourage parents to use their discretion in determining whether the material is appropriate for their child.

There may be new snow on the ground Spring Conferences are just two weeks away! Parents of students at Okoboji Elementary, Middle, and High Schools should be receiving an email with a link to sign up for conference times. As a reminder, OES will have conferences on Tuesday, February 25th and Thursday, February 27th while OMS and OHS have conferences on Thursday, February 27th only.

If you are a business looking for summer help, make plans to attend the 9th Annual Okoboji Summer Job Fair! This event brings students from Okoboji and other Lakes Area schools together with businesses looking for summer help. Over the last eight years, hundreds of connections have been made, many of which continuing on for many years! It is a great example of the power of school and community working together for the benefit of all! This year's fair is scheduled for Friday, April 4th at the Roof Garden at Historic Arnolds Park! The fair is FREE for businesses to attend! The Okoboji School Board is excited to announce the hiring of Will Dible as the next superintendent of the Okoboji Community School District, following the retirement of Mr. Abrahamson on June 30, 2025, after eight years of dedicated leadership. A 2004 graduate of Okoboji High School, Will’s return to lead our district is a special full-circle moment for all of us. Mr. Dible's hiring will be made official at the board meeting on January 8, 2025. Will is a dedicated and accomplished leader with a student-centered approach to education that aligns perfectly with our district’s vision. We are confident that his leadership will continue to move Okoboji forward in a positive direction. Please join us in welcoming Mr. Dible to his new role. He will officially begin his duties as superintendent on July 1, 2025.
